Are All-Inclusive Honeymoon Packages Right For your Honeymoon?

So at first glance, it seems like a no brainer! All the stress and strain of the wedding is now over, and all you have to do is show up to your resort and enjoy. All of your food and drinks, as well as many of your land and water activities are all included in your honeymoon package price. There are little, if any surprises to worry about to your wallet once you arrive. Before you press the “book now” button on one of those websites, or contact a honeymoon designer, you and your fiancé need to find out if you are a good match for an all-inclusive honeymoon experience. This article should help.
What is Your Travel Personality?

Some couples are a better fit for an all-inclusive honeymoon package than others. Couples who enjoy resting by the pool or on the beach, are not interested in doing a lot of activities, are not big alcohol drinkers, and don’t have a large appetite, may feel like they are wasting their money at an all-inclusive honeymoon resort. One side note on drinking alcohol, a lot of all-inclusive resorts are now offering health bars where you can get all types of custom or menu ordered smoothies that are healthy. If you love the idea of having an endless supply of Pina coladas, enjoy many land and water activities, usually enjoy second helpings at meals, and don’t want to worry about the price tag, then an all-inclusive honeymoon resort will be a phenomenal option for you.
What Type of Activities Are Included?
As I mentioned above, most all-inclusive honeymoon resorts offer land and water activities that are included in your price. All-inclusive resorts usually include tennis, golf, sailing, snorkeling, scuba, and many other land and water activities. You will want to find out if there are any extra fees or costs associated with the resort’s activities that you really enjoy. For example, at Sandals, you can scuba once a day for free as long as you have your dive certificate. If you are not certified, Sandals will offer a resort dive certification class for an extra $80.00, but that is the only extra cost. Some resorts have free green fees for golfing, but will charge for the club rental. Make sure you do your homework before you book.
What about the Spa?

Almost all resorts offer some type of spa services on site. Most all-inclusive resorts will only offer minimal spa services as part of your honeymoon package. If you are looking for some high end, or luxurious extras, you will probably have to pay for those no matter what resort you are at. Most resorts, however, will offer daily spa specials that can save you up to 50% off the normal listed price. Some all-inclusive honeymoon resorts will include some romantic Spa treatments, like a couples massage, as part of their honeymoon package. Always double check what honeymoon amenities come with your package.
Are All-Inclusive Resorts Pretty Much the Same?
The variety of all-inclusive resorts today is staggering! Every all-inclusive resort company features a different type of experience. Couples resorts feature a more intimate and authentic Caribbean flair, Sandals is offering a chic and modern theme, while other resort companies like the Eldorado Royale, offer a focus on food and wine. Even within the Sandals resort chain, each resort has a different atmosphere and flair.
How Do You Make Sure Your Money is Well Spent?

If you truly want to make sure that your money is well spent, and that your all-inclusive honeymoon package is going to be perfect for you, do your research, before you book! I know of a couple who booked a Sandals honeymoon to Jamaica in the Ocho Rios area, expecting to have romantic walks on the beach, but were disappointed to find out that, as beautiful as Ocho Rios is, there are not large expansive beaches to walk on there. If they would have consulted with me, or another honeymoon designer, I would have told them that Negril Jamaica is the best place in for long walks along the beach. I would have recommended they book their honeymoon at Sandals Negril, or Couples Negril.
